Customer profitability is able to be determined using nonfinancial measures.  Although there are different types of measures that can be used, some have been found to work better than others.  Balanced scorecards are some of the most used nonfinancial measures used in the corporate world.

Nonfinancial Measures

There are different types of nonfinancial measures (NFMs) which can be used by businesses in order to obtain different information.  Customer satisfaction, quality of products, and innovative features are examples of what nonfinancial measures could indicate.  Examples of nonfinancial measures are balanced scorecards, performance dashboards, value chain scoreboards, performance prisms, and contemporary CEO compensation schemes (O’Connell & O’Sullivan, 2014).
