TRIP DATABASE was established in 1997 and focuses on evidence-based videos and content to locate evidence-based information simple and easy. Originally the meaning of TRIP meant “Turning Research into Practice”. When the registry was established, it tracks search activity, and sends related topic and updated information via email. This database allows for easier access of information in addition to evidence-based synopses, clinical trials, primary research, and systematic reviews. This database allows the PICOT element for use when conducting a search. It has links that allows access to several reputable and prime databases which includes PubMed. If content is retrieved using PubMed database, an update takes place on the TRIP database every two weeks and monthly for secondary sources.
Explain how the database relates to your topic of interest/question:
The TRIP database is relevant to my research topic because of the great evidence-based links that have systematic reviews, evidence-based synopses, and ongoing clinical trials on fall assessments and interventions in the elderly community. The first search for falls among the elderly populated a number of 5,889 results. The TRIP premium allowed for an additional 233 systematic reviews, 1372 full text articles and 474 clinical trials.
